Solar Heating Systems
Heat water for your property using energy from the sun. Solar heating systems use free heat from the sun and can assist with heating domestic & commercial hot water, central heating systems and swimming pools.
How do solar water heating systems work?
Solar water heating systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to warm water which is stored in either a hot water cylinder or if assisting with central heating in a heat store.
There are two types of solar water heating panels, they are evacuated tubes and flat plate collectors. Flat plates collectors can be fixed on the roof tiles or integrated into the roof.
An air source heat pump or a boiler will be needed as a back up to heat the water to the requited temperature when there is no solar available.
